The Heritage

Built to outlive its first owner.

At Old Tannery, we reject the frantic pace of modern fashion. We craft heavyweight steerhide jackets designed to accumulate character and stories over a lifetime of wear.

The Workshop

The original Chicago brick workshop.

For generations, our brick workshop has stood as a quiet defiance to the disposable. Inside these walls, the scent of birch bark and rich oils lingers, marking a space where time is measured in decades, not seasons.

Every jacket begins here, cut from heavyweight pull-up steerhide and bound with solid brass rivets hammered by hand. We do not compromise on raw materials, and we do not rush the makers.

The Six-Month Method

Six months in the tanning pits yields steerhide that behaves like a second skin.

While modern factories use harsh chemicals to cure hides in hours, our slow organic immersion preserves the natural strength of the fiber. The result is a heavyweight pull-up leather that develops a rich patina over time.
